I Believe The President Should Consider Addressing the House

Reports that the House of Representatives became rowdy over a motion to invite President Bola Tinubu to discuss delays in funding constituency projects highlight how important accountability is in any democracy.

Personally, I think this presents an opportunity rather than a confrontation.

If there are genuine concerns about the pace of funding for constituency projects, I believe Nigerians would appreciate hearing directly from the President. A clear explanation of the challenges, the government's plans, and the expected timeline could help build public confidence and reduce unnecessary speculation.

Accepting such an invitation should not be seen as a sign of weakness. On the contrary, it would demonstrate openness, transparency, and respect for the institutions that represent the Nigerian people.

Every administration faces difficult decisions, especially in challenging economic times. What citizens often want most is honest communication about what is being done, why delays have occurred, and when improvements can be expected.

I believe President Tinubu has an opportunity to reinforce public trust by engaging with lawmakers and addressing these concerns directly. Sometimes, a conversation can achieve far more than a political disagreement.
