I Don't Want Foreign Lawmakers Telling Nigeria How to Protect Its Citizens

The European Parliament has urged Nigeria to do more to protect communities in the Middle Belt and end impunity.

Honestly, I don't like foreign politicians telling Nigeria what to do.

But the best way to respond is not with anger.

It is with results.

I want Nigeria to become a country where every citizen—Christian, Muslim, or anyone else—feels safe in their own community.

I believe Mr President has an opportunity to prove that Nigeria can solve its own security challenges.

The strongest response to criticism is not a statement.

It is a safer Nigeria.
