The 2023 Obedient Movement Voted. What Did They Get?

Three years ago, young Nigerians did something this country had never seen. They registered in record numbers. They stood in queues. They uploaded results. They built a grassroots political movement from Twitter threads and WhatsApp groups that brought Peter Obi within striking distance of the presidency.

And then the old order closed ranks and the result stood.

Now it is 2026. Atiku has left PDP for ADC. Peter Obi has moved platforms again. El-Rufai, Amaechi, Rotimi — the same faces that have circulated through Nigerian power for 40 years are now presenting themselves as the opposition coalition that will rescue Nigeria.

The Obedient movement was never about Peter Obi. It was about rejecting the recycling of power. So why is the 2027 opposition coalition being built by the same people the movement was reacting against?

Young Nigerians deserve to know: who is this 2027 opposition actually for? Because from where we are standing, it looks like the same meal being reheated and served as something new.

If Labour Party, ADC, and PDP want the youth vote in 2027, they need to answer that question directly.
