This Investigation Must Go Wherever the Facts Lead

The latest revelations surrounding the alleged fake PFIPC agency have only raised more questions. According to Adeyemi, who has been identified as the agency's alleged Director-General, he never met Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila in person and says all communications went through his now-deceased friend, Dolapo Tanimola. He has also expressed confusion over how the agency allegedly found its way into the national budget and says he is willing to cooperate fully with investigators.

This is no longer about individuals.

It is about public trust.

If someone can genuinely ask how an agency made its way into Nigeria's budget, then something is clearly wrong with the system. Every government institution, every budget allocation, and every appointment should be traceable and verifiable.

I do not believe Nigerians should rush to convict anyone in the court of public opinion.

At the same time, I also do not believe that unanswered questions should simply disappear because they are politically uncomfortable.

This investigation must be independent, transparent, and thorough. If no wrongdoing occurred, the findings should clear the names of those involved. But if failures in oversight allowed an agency to operate without proper legal backing, then those responsible should also be held accountable.

I hope Mr. President allows the investigation to proceed without interference, regardless of where the evidence leads. Public confidence is strengthened when governments allow institutions to uncover the truth rather than control the narrative.

In the end, Nigerians are not asking for rumours or speculation.
